Mr. Navarro was born and raised in Miami.  He attended St. Brendan’s Elementary and High School. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami and his Masters Degree in Government from Harvard University.

Mr. Navarro has been in the mortgage business all of his professional life. Bernie is currently the President of Benworth Capital Partners.  Mr. Navarro formally owned HomeMortgage, which was acquired by Countrywide Home Loans in September of 2005. Mr. Navarro positioned HomeMortgage to be a leader in the local mortgage market. HomeMortgage was the preferred mortgage lender for many new construction developments. HomeMortgage was also the mortgage lender for TotalBank, a 15 branch community bank. He has also worked for such Fortune 100 companies as GMAC Mortgage, Citibank Mortgage, and JP Morgan Chase Mortgage. He has extensive knowledge in secondary markets and retail operations and sales.

Mr. Navarro is an Executive Director of the Latin Builders Association (LBA).  At the LBA, he is Chairperson of the Communications Committee.  In 2008, the LBA named Mr. Navarro Director of the year for his outstanding service to the organization and community. Also in 2008, the LBA named Benworth Capital Partners “Mortgage Service Company of the Year.” In 2003, 2004, and 2005 Mr. Navarro received the BASF Silver and Platinum awards for Mortgage Lender of the year.

Mr. Navarro is very active in the community.  In 2007, he led a grass roots movement named “Citezens for Property Tax Reform.”  This group led a petition drive in the State Florida to lower property taxes.  In 1999, he sat on the Miami Beach Zoning Board.  In 1996 he was unanimously elected to the West Dade Community Council. The West Dade Community Council is the most active zoning board in Dade County.  The council elected him Vice Chairman and later Chairman.

Mr. Navarro currently resides in Coral Gables with wife Claudia and daughter Alexandra.
