Charlie A. Martinez is the president of Caribe Homes, the largest private homebuilder in Miami-Dade County. In 1986, Martinez worked with his family to establish Caribe Homes as a prominent quality homebuilder, and henceforth has lead the company from its 10-acre development beginnings to the sale of more than 4,000 homes. Caribe Homes now has more than 13 building communities throughout South Florida and is recognized for delivering quality and value at reasonable prices in a growing competitive market. Caribe Homes has repeatedly been honored and recognized as “Residential Developer of the Year” by the Latin Builders Association (LBA).
Martinez also has experience as a project manager for L. Milton Construction Company, which has been constructing quality projects in South Florida for over 35 years.

Martinez has been an officer of the LBA since 1991 and served as president from 2000 to 2002. In addition to Martinez’s professional development, he has also been recognized for his continual community involvement and was named the 2005 winner of “The Distinguished Volunteer for Baptist Hospital.” Martinez stays connected to the community that supports him with his many oversight board appointments, including the Minimum Housing Appeals Board, the Board of Rules and Appeals, and the Building Code Committee of Miami-Dade County. Martinez also serves on the University of Miami’s “Citizen’s Board”, the Orange Bowl Committee, the Performing Arts Center Strategic Planning Committee, and the Board of Directors of Premier American Bank. Martinez serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Miami, the Board of Governors of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Board of Directs of Our Kids, Inc., and the Board of Directors of Baptist Cardiovascular Foundation Board as well.

The Martinez Family supervised and contributed to the construction of Haiti Tech, a trade school located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The school currently supports more than 300 students.

Martinez attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and graduated in 1985, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Building Construction. Martinez served as Vice President and President of Phi Kappa Phi fraternity, and has been a keynote speaker at campus-wide seminars on student issues. In addition to being an avid participant in golf, cycling, and hunting, Martinez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
