2026 Legislative Luncheon

The Latin Builders Association welcomed South Florida’s construction and business community for its 2026 Legislative Luncheon, bringing together industry leaders, members, and elected officials for a timely conversation on the issues shaping Florida’s future.

The luncheon featured Florida House Speaker-Designate Sam Garrison, State Senator Bryan Avila, State Senator Alexis Calatayud, and State Representative J.C. Porras, with State Representative Alex Rizo serving as moderator.

Throughout the discussion, the panel addressed several issues of particular relevance to Florida’s business and construction sectors, including affordable housing, condominium reform, and key legislative priorities facing the state. The conversation offered attendees the opportunity to hear directly from state leaders about current policy discussions and the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Prior to the luncheon, members of the LBA Board of Directors also participated in a more intimate conversation with Speaker-Designate Garrison and Senator Calatayud, providing an additional opportunity for dialogue between association leadership and state policymakers.

Creating direct connections between LBA members and the leaders shaping Florida’s legislative landscape remains an important part of the Association’s mission. Events such as the Legislative Luncheon provide a forum for meaningful discussion, greater understanding of the issues affecting the industry, and continued engagement between the public and private sectors.
